Sudan Delegation Assembly and Installation of the New Delegate

Sudan Delegation of St. Bakhita celebrated its fourth General assembly on 30 and 31 July. Confreres from practically all the communities of the delegation participated in this annual assembly and it was a time of fraternal sharing and greater appreciation of the Salesian presences in the Sudan. On the first day (30th July) the outgoing delegate Superior and his council presented their reports regarding the state of the delegation. Second day of the Assembly was coloured with an input by Mr. Gabriel Joseph, regarding the "Situation of Youth in the Sudan". He is an expert in the Youth activities in the Sudan and his presentation enlightened the participants about the challenges faced by the young people in the Sudan, both in the North and in the South. There was also another input from Rev. Fr. Ferrington Poobalarayen, SDB our new delegate superior about the Vision and dream of the congregation in general and also of our delegation in particular. We also had quality time to discuss issues pertaining the daily life of the delegation. The culmination of the assembly was marked with the Silver Jubilee Celebration of our New Delegate Superior Rev. Fr. Ferrington Poobalarayen, SDB. During the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration AFE provincial Rev. Fr. Joseph Pulikkal, SDB installed Fr. Ferrington as the new delegate superior of the Sudan Delegation. A good number of Religious Sisters and Priests from the Archdiocese of Khartoum, especially who collaborate closely with our mission were also present for the occasion. we concluded the celebrations with a Solemn Supper and felicitation of the New Delegate Superior and his council.
